Trevose Head
The lighthouse stands on Trevose Head on the north coast of Cornwall, southwest of Padstow. Yet it is not the tower itself but the painting’s singular atmosphere that takes centre stage. The tower is wreathed in mist, which the beacon illuminates against the black night sky. Here, too, the light stands for confidence and hope.
