An avid sailor herself, Ingrid followed the Ocean Race—formerly the Volvo Ocean Race—with keen interest. This passion inspired this work, where two abstracted sailboats emerge in the foreground. The underlying nautical charts add a second layer, suggesting a sense of freedom and vastness. The use of modeling paste enhances the abstraction within the sails, lending the composition a tactile depth.
