The painting “Mogliano” depicts a stylized landscape, composed of clearly structured, mosaic-like surfaces. In the foreground, slender cypresses frame the pictorial space. Between them, a path leads gently through the landscape, drawing the viewer’s gaze into the distance toward a hill on the horizon, at the foot of which lie small, simplified houses.
The fields on either side of the path are divided into colorful, geometric planes that lend the landscape a sense of calm order. This creates a harmonious, almost meditative effect, in which form, color, and structure are brought into a poised balance.
Mogliano is an Italian municipality in the province of Macerata in the Marche region. The community is located in eastern Italy on the Adriatic coast.
