Fishing Boat Rhodes II

Ingrid loved the Greek islands. Mykonos, Santorini, and above all Rhodes were her favorites. This fishing boat was surely one of her memories from a visit there, from which she painted several pictures.
A fishing boat is always a symbol of departure. Even when it lies on the beach, it carries the sea within it.
While painting, Ingrid felt a quiet longing for distant places—for wind, salt, open horizons. The boat is small, but the sea beyond it is boundless.
