Fishing Boat Rhodes I

A fishing boat is always a symbol of setting out. Even when resting on the shore, it carries the sea within. While painting, Ingrid felt a quiet longing for the distance—for wind, salt, and open horizons. The boat is small, yet the sea beyond is boundless.
Although the beach appears highly realistic due to the materials used, the boat remains an artistic choice: How is it positioned? How does the light fall? It is an interplay between objective representation and subjective mood.
