City Lights

This abstract painting feels like an explosion of urban energy. In the foreground, bright colours – intense yellow, fiery red and glowing orange – blaze in dynamic brushstrokes. The layers of paint seem to vibrate, while small bright accents such as windows or passing car headlights flash and remind us of the pulsating life of a city at night.
In the background, a calmer plane of deep blue and dark red opens up, reminiscent of the night sky. These dark tones form a quiet counterpoint to the bright luminosity of the foreground and lend the painting depth. This creates a tension between movement and stillness, light and darkness – a poetic interpretation of the city at night.
