Ar Men
Ingrid was fascinated by lighthouses. Yet her paintings were not so much about the lighthouse itself, but about the mood the images convey. Built on a rock in the Atlantic off the Breton coast, the Ar Men lighthouse stands alone in the storm, the wind driving ragged clouds across the sky. Despite the rather dark atmosphere, the image also radiates confidence—the lighthouse defying the storm.
