Ingrid Günther

Ingrid Günther showed talent from her earliest youth. In elementary school, a teacher showed her drawing of a horse’s head to everyone. But these were the post-war years, when children’s artistic talents were not supported as they are today. Unfortunately, her talent was not encouraged at the time.

In the early 2000s, she actively resumed her art. She attended painting groups and worked with teachers who advanced her creative work and with whose help she eventually found her own style.

After initial exhibitions with the painting groups, she had her first solo exhibition in 2018 in the Municipal Hall of Barmstedt. Further exhibitions followed there in 2020 and 2023, as well as in 2024 at the Dittchenbühne in Elmshorn.

Ingrid’s special passion was the sea. This motif runs like a common thread through her work.

“I love the sea like my soul, for the sea is my soul.”
Heinrich Heine
