In this painting, Ingrid has depicted the two tulips in great detail, with a clear colour transition from dark red to green. The filler used gives the tulips a three-dimensional effect, as if they had just been picked.
Tulips were among her favourite flowers, which appear repeatedly in one form or another in her work.
