Faborg is a small town nestled in the south of the island of Funen. Ingrid held a deep affection for this harbor, a place to which many of our sailing journeys returned. The painting captures the view from the harbor out into the Danish South Sea—as this region of the Baltic is, quite rightly, known.
This was a piece she returned to time and again, refining it until she was finally satisfied with the delicate balance of its color nuances.
