I have accompanied children into life. Through my work, I have contributed to the well-being of all. But now all that is behind me. Loneliness has become a familiar companion. I have little contact with those around me. Other people’s lives pass me by, and I am no longer part of them. I walk through the streets and feel transparent and pale — like a quiet observer of a world that moves on without me.
