\nCaspar David Friedrich<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>Inspired by the work of my late wife Ingrid, the idea for \u2018Silhouettes by the Sea\u2019<\/strong> was born. With this online gallery, we want to present high-quality craftsmanship and artistry. For me, the focus is always on the artist \u2013 because every work carries a personal story, an emotion and an individual view of the world. <\/p>\n\u2018Silhouettes by the Sea\u2019 sees itself as a platform that makes art visible and creates a connection between artists and collectors. The focus is not on quick sales, but on discovering, understanding and sharing the experience of art. <\/p>\n
I am an engineer, so my interest in art developed relatively late in life. Ingrid had been drawing all her life. In the early 2000s, she began to work more intensively with acrylics through art circles and art teachers, constantly developing her technique. Usually, I was the first person she showed her new works to \u2013 and so, over time, I developed an eye for art. <\/p>\n
In a sense, I became her first \u2018art critic\u2019. Our agreement was simple: when she asked for my opinion, she got an honest answer. If she didn’t want to hear it, she didn’t have to ask. <\/p>\n
When my daughter Sarah, inspired by Ingrid, took up painting again after a break and developed impressive artistic maturity, it became clear that this shared passion could give rise to a project. Sarah has since won awards for her work, which makes me very proud. <\/p>\n
With \u2018Silhouettes by the Sea\u2019<\/strong>, we want to show art that touches, inspires and invites dialogue.<\/p>\nI am delighted that you are visiting our gallery \u2013 and, of course, I welcome any exchange about art.<\/p>\n
